Why do I need to check my Fidlock seatbelt buckle?

You may have received an email from your dealer asking you to check your seatbelt buckle. Below, we answer a few questions you might have.

My seatbelt buckle works fine, right? That’s correct! Most seatbelt buckles work perfectly. We are sending this message because, as a premium brand, we always strive for 100% quality. We have discovered that a small number of buckles do not always lock as well as they should. Therefore, we ask everyone to check it, just to be sure that everything is working perfectly.

Is this dangerous? No, you can continue to ride with peace of mind. The three-point belt is designed so that your child always remains safely seated in the box, even if one side of the buckle is unexpectedly not fully secured. However, the belt is not fully functional in that case, and naturally, that is not what we want. That is why we are taking a "better safe than sorry" approach.

Does this apply to all bikes? No, this only applies to specific batches of the Fidlock JUNIOR Press seatbelt buckles on our FamilyNext models. Because we want to be certain of the quality of every single buckle, we advise everyone with a FamilyNext to perform this quick check.
