My Suncover does not stay in place properly. It sometimes pops off while cycling. Why is this?

When your Urban Arrow Suncover does not stay in place properly and comes loose while cycling, for example, there may be several causes.

Incorrect installation

Check that the awning is correctly installed according to the instructions. Make sure that all fixing points are correctly connected and that there are no loose parts.

Protection tube

If the Suncover does not stay in place properly at the back (near the handlebars), the endcaps of the protection tube may not be long enough. This problem can also occur with the Raincover. This can be solved with extended reflector caps, which can be ordered through your Urban Arrow dealer.

Fixing poles

If the front awning does not stay in place properly, the poles may not reach far enough through the protection tube. Then either the poles are not long enough (the stainless steel part of the poles must protrude between 47.5 and 48.5 mm) or the protection tube is too thick. Some protection tubes actually have a welded seam at the top, which prevents the sticks from being inserted far enough through the protection tube.

Both problems probably get worse when the lower part of the awning is not used. This is because then some fixing points fall away and more tension is put on the remaining fixing points.

If you cannot solve the problem yourself, it is advisable to contact your Urban Arrow dealer. They may be able to provide you with specific instructions, spare parts or additional parts to ensure the sunshade stays in place while cycling.
